To the right of the reception room, the chief detective’s office could be found next to the line up room for criminal suspects, the homicide room and Lt. Giuseppe “Joseph” Petrosino’s famed Italian Squad.
240 Centre Street, formerly the New York City Police Headquarter building, between Broome & Grand Streets in the Nolita neighborhood of Manhattan, was built in 1905-1909 and was designed by the firm Hoppin & Koen.
