Volunteer for Quidditch Australia

Quidditch Australia (QAI) is searching for enthusiastic and dedicated people to take up a variety of roles to support QAI into 2017. Gameplay Committee

QAI is looking for people to take up the role of gameplay coordinator, one of 5-6 people who will work on the QAI Gameplay Committee under the Gameplay Director. They will be responsible for assisting in all QAI related gameplay matters.

General Responsibilities:

  • Consult with the Gameplay Committee on changes to/introduction of QAI gameplay policies
  • Assist state governing bodies with the process of training and testing referees and snitches
  • Monitor state gameplay policies to ensure they meet QAI standards
  • Provide input for the formatting of QAI-run tournaments (e.g. QUAFL, State of Origin)
  • Assist in the scheduling of game officials in QAI-run tournaments
  • Perform any required clerical roles as assigned

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in quidditch refereeing and/or scheduling
  • Ability to attend fortnightly meetings
  • Knowledge of how to write formal policies and documents
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Filled with ideas in how to improve quidditch in Australia

 

Membership Committee

QAI is looking for people to take up the role of membership coordinator, one of 2-3 people who will work on the QAI Membership Committee under the Membership Director. They will be responsible for assisting in all QAI related membership matters.

General Responsibilities:

  • Consult with the Membership Committee on changes to/introduction of QAI membership policies
  • Assist states and teams to access relevant data on the membership database
  • Assist in the processing of sanctioning events
  • Ensure the membership database is updated in a timely manner
  • Perform any required clerical roles as assigned

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in database management and excel
  • Ability to attend fortnightly meetings
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Filled with ideas in how to improve quidditch in Australia

Technology Coordinator

QAI is looking for someone to take up the role of technology director, who will work under the Media Director within the Communications Committee to help keep quidditch.info functioning in an optimal manner and content up-to-date.

General Responsibilities:

  • Consult with the Gameplay Committee and Communications Committee to ensure online policies are up to date
  • Work with the states and clubs to keep their online information up to date
  • Assist the Membership Committee with any database issues
  • Perform any required clerical roles as assigned

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in website management
  • Ability to attend fortnightly meetings
  • Knowledge of how to write formal policies and documents
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, user interfaces and functionality
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Filled with ideas in how to improve quidditch in Australia
