Membership

 Register for Membership of Quidditch Australia

Quidditch Australia has three categories of membership: States, Clubs, and Individuals.
Membership is essential to attend national competitions and to ensure insurance coverage for teams and players at QA sanctioned events.

Membership is valid from the date of payment to the 31st of December, 2019, except where stated otherwise.
All playing individuals must be registered under a club; all teams must be registered under a club; all clubs must be registered under a state.


State Membership

Only one state body in a region can register for membership with Quidditch Australia. There is no cost associated with state registration.

State registration must be done via QA directly via membership@quidditch.org.au.

  • All member benefits outlined in the QA Constitution including:
    • The ability to be represented by an official delegate at QA meetings
  • Ability to apply for insurance coverage at sanctioned events

Club Membership

Quidditch Australia differentiates between clubs and teams; clubs are organisations that many contain multiple teams which each compete at local, regional, state, or national levels. Both clubs and teams are required to register, but all teams must register under a member club. Membership benefits are extended exclusively to clubs.

Club Registration

Cost: $75

Benefits:

  • All member benefits outlined in the QA Constitution including:
    • The ability to be represented by an official delegate at QA meetings
  • A club page on the QA website
  • Ability to apply for insurance coverage at sanctioned events
  • Entry to the annual Australian Quidditch Championships
  • Eligibility to be included in national standings, where applicable

 

Team Registration

One competitive team is included in club registration, all further teams come at an additional cost. All additional teams must be registered under an existing member club. Multiple teams within the same club are afforded further benefits.

Cost (per team): $50

Benefits:

  • Entry to the annual Australian Quidditch Championships
  • Eligibility to be included in national standings, where applicable
  • Simpler intra-club team transfer process

Individual Memberships

Individual membership falls into the following categories: Trial, Non-Playing, and Playing.All playing individuals must be members of a club to register for Quidditch Australia membership.

Trial Membership

Trial membership is designed for first time players who want to get a taste of competitive quidditch. Individuals may only register for trial membership if they have never held any type of individual membership before with Quidditch Australia. Trail membership is valid for only 30 days from date of payment. Individuals can upgrade to playing membership at any time after their trial membership has expired.

Cost: $10

Benefits:

  • Insurance coverage during sanctioned training sessions of member clubs
  • Ability to play in official QA games, excluding the Australian National Championships.
  • Insurance coverage when participating in official QA events or sanctioned events of member clubs and states.

Non-Playing Membership

Non-playing membership is designed for coaches, referees, and other sporting officials who wish to participate in QA and sanctioned member events, other than as a player.

Cost: $45

Benefits:

  • Insurance coverage during sanctioned training sessions of member clubs
  • Insurance coverage when participating in official QA events or sanctioned events of member clubs and states, other than as a player
  • Playing coverage for non-club competitive events such as Fantasy tournaments, as determined by Quidditch Australia

Playing Membership

Playing membership is the highest tier of individual membership.

Cost: $60

Benefits:

  • Insurance coverage during sanctioned training sessions of member clubs
  • Ability to play in official QA games
  • Insurance coverage when participating in official QA events or sanctioned events of member clubs and states.
  • Eligibility for state and national teams
